Just a few more things

Posted by WonderWare on August 29, 2009 at 7:50 PM

I've just submitted my 1.2 update to Oh Hell ScorePad.  This adds some new scoring variations suggested by some players.  I think it is incredibly flexible now to handle just about any scoring people can think up!  On the more unusual side I've also added an "Indian Round" where you don't get to look at your own cards but instead hold it up to your forehead so everyone else can see it.  I'm not sure how popular this option will be but I did get a special request and I aim to please.  :)

The changes will be migrated into Oh Hell ScorePad 2 shortly.

Mike, I have a question about the statistics. Does the "Over" bar mean how many times you overbid (i.e. got less than you bid) or how many times you made more than you bid?

I had some confusion on this initially. Bidding more than you take is an overbid. Look on the scoring option page and it defines the terms.

Hi Mike,

I am using oh-hell scorepad 2 and it crashes a lot, but only during updating/adding of player's names. It'll crash 90% of the time while editing a name. I've gotten to the point where if I were able to successfully change a name, I would exit the game and come back in so that it stays permanent. Otherwise, when it crashes, it defaults back to the previous session. Is there a known issue about this?

FYI: I'm using the iPhone 1.5 (1st gen, 16GB) running 3.1.2.

Hi dn!

Sorry to hear about your crash problems. I'm not aware of any issues but I'll do my best to fix your problems. Give me as much detail as you can on what you're doing when the app crashes. What are all the names already in the app and what is the new one you're adding? Have you tried removing the app and reinstalling it?

The easiest way to contact me is to use the email button built into the app. I'll try me best to get things working again. :)

Could I suggest a couple of things that would entice me (and perhaps others) to buy.
For variety, we play 1 to 13 cards but in a random order. Would it be possible to enter the cards per round manually rather than be obliged to go down or up in sequence.
Knowing what trumps are on any particular round is important as people are always forgetting even after having played a few cards.
Lastly, many have a rule that the bids can not total the amount of cards out thus at least one person has to be wrong every round.
